Worskhop Presentation: "Managing Stress through Mindful Awareness ."


Jeri is a licensed clinical therapist practicing in the medical field for over 12 years. She has also been working as a clinical therapist for approximately 10 years. She completed a BSW degree at Weber State University and completed her MSW degree at the University of Maryland. As part of her education in clinical therapy, she completed a health specialization.
She studied Mind Body Medicine during her course of study. The focus of her medical social work practice has been working with trauma patients and patients with chronic illness such as Cancer, Diabetes, Kidney disease, Hepatic Liver Disease, Hepatitis and other general medical conditions. She has worked with clients in her clinical practice adjusting to both acute and chronic illness.
She is well known in the community for her work with Depression; Anxiety; Addiction Recovery and as a Grief Specialist. The focus of much of her work is in learning to manage stress. Many chronic and acute illnesses are attributed to unmanaged stress. She has organized educational conferences for caregivers to manage the day to day stress while providing care for both acute and chronically ill loved ones. She is passionate about her work with women and states, "Finding me has been a journey. Being true to me is giving to those who suffer and are in need. Being true to me, is to continue to gain knowledge of the meaning and purpose of my own life and to continue the journey of change. My hope is to help other women on their own journey in life, to have hope instead of despair and peace in place of fear." My address will be, Managing Stress through Mindful Awareness.
